VEHICLE SALE AGREEMENT

This agreement is made at ____________ on 06/10/2026 between Alex Morgan (the SELLER) and ____________ (the BUYER).

1. Vehicle
The Seller sells and the Buyer buys the vehicle Maruti Suzuki Swift VXi, 2019, registration no. MH 12 AB 1234, chassis / engine no. MA3EWDE1S00123456 / K12MN1234567, odometer reading 54,200 km (the VEHICLE).

2. Price
The sale price is Rs. 425,000, which the Seller has received in full by Bank transfer. The Seller acknowledges receipt.

3. Delivery
The Seller handed over the Vehicle on 06/10/2026 with the keys, the Registration Certificate, insurance, pollution certificate and service records.

4. Title
The Seller states that the Vehicle is free from any loan, hypothecation, police case or legal dispute, and that the Seller is its lawful owner.

5. Transfer
The Seller shall sign Forms 29 and 30 and hand over the RC, insurance and PUC. The Buyer shall apply for transfer of ownership within the time allowed by law (14 days for the same state).

6. Liability
From the date of delivery the Buyer is responsible for all fines, taxes and accidents. Challans before that date remain the Seller's responsibility.

7. As is
The Buyer has inspected and test-driven the Vehicle and accepts it in its present condition.

How soon must the RC be transferred?

Under the Motor Vehicles Act the buyer must apply for transfer within 30 days (the seller must report the sale within 14 days). Keep the signed Form 29 and Form 30 and the delivery date in writing.

Does an agreement need to be on stamp paper or notarised?

It depends on the country and the type of agreement. Property, long leases and some loans need stamp duty, registration or a notary. Even where not required, signing in front of witnesses adds proof.

Can I change the clauses?

Yes. Delete what does not apply and add what you agreed. Both parties should initial every change before signing.

What if the other party does not sign?

Then there is no agreement. Get both signatures and keep a copy each.
