Structure, fonts, images, page sizes, metadata, and security signals — one clear 0-100 score.

Your file is analyzed and then deleted — never stored, never shared. The scan itself is completely free, no account needed.

A PDF can have problems you'd never spot just by opening it - fonts that aren't embedded, images far larger than the page needs, a structure that technically works but is one bad viewer away from breaking. PDF Doctor reads the file's actual internal structure and turns what it finds into a plain 0-100 score and a list of issues in ordinary language, then fixes what can be safely fixed automatically, in one click.

How to use this tool

  1. Upload the PDF you want checked (drag-and-drop or browse) - the scan is free and needs no account.
  2. Read the score and the plain-English list of what's wrong, if anything.
  3. If something is fixable, sign in and click Fix Everything to download a repaired copy.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly does the score measure?

A fixed set of checks - structure, fonts, images, page sizes, metadata, and basic security signals - each with its own point deduction, so the same PDF always scores the same way. It's never a random or AI-guessed number.

Can it fix a password-protected PDF?

It can scan one once you type in the password, but Fix Everything won't touch a still-encrypted file - remove the password first with Unlock PDF, then run PDF Doctor again.

Is the health check itself really free?

Yes - scanning a PDF costs nothing and needs no account. Only downloading a repaired copy is charged, and your very first fix on this site is free.

What happens to my file after I scan it?

It's analyzed and then deleted immediately - an anonymous scan is never stored anywhere, even briefly.
