LETTER OF DEMAND

Ref.: REF-2026-014
Date: 06/10/2026

To
____________

Dear Sir or Madam,

You owe me 3,200.00 for: Plumbing work completed 12 March 2026, invoice no. 233.

I demand that you pay 3,200.00 within 14 days of the date of this letter. Payment can be made by bank transfer to the account on the invoice.

If you do not pay, I will start proceedings in the appropriate court or tribunal (for example the Local Court or the Civil and Administrative Tribunal) without further notice, claiming the debt, interest and my costs. I may also report the default to credit-reporting bodies where the law permits.

Yours faithfully,

FAQ

Is a legal notice sent by me valid, or must a lawyer send it?

In most places a notice sent by you is valid, but a notice from a lawyer carries more weight. For high-value or contested matters, have a lawyer check it first.

How should I deliver a legal notice?

By registered post with acknowledgement, courier with proof of delivery, or a tracked e-mail where the other side's address is known. Keep every receipt.
