How do I join first and last name with a space?

Use =B2&" "&C2, or =CONCAT(B2," ",C2). In older Excel, CONCATENATE works the same way.

How do I join a range and skip blanks?

Use TEXTJOIN (Excel 2019/365): =TEXTJOIN(", ",TRUE,B2:D2). TRUE ignores empty cells.
