How to list PDF file names in Excel online – step by step
PDF Filenames to Excel reads the file names of many PDFs - or a whole ZIP of them - and puts them in an Excel sheet in seconds. It is useful for indexes, checking submissions and preparing bulk rename lists.

Add PDFs or a ZIP
Drop up to 300 PDFs, or a ZIP or RAR containing them, on the upload box.

Check the list
Your files are listed with their sizes; remove any you do not need.
Step 2: Check the list -
Choose the layout
Choose whether names go down a column or across a row.
Step 3: Choose the layout -
Press Run
Press the Run button.

Download the Excel file
Press Download and open the sheet - one name per cell, ready to copy.

Common problems & fixes
- Some files are missing
- Only PDFs are listed - check that other types were not included.

- Run again and choose the other layout.
